eCheminfo drug discovery workshop, Oxford, 21 - 25 July

We are holding the next eCheminfo community of practice hands-on drug discovery workshop in Oxford, 21 - 25 July.

As in previous workshops the emphasis is on problem solving, practical hands-on use of methods and software applied to drug discovery problems, and working together throughout the week. The workshop will also offer a neglected disease case study focus.

OpenTox USA 2013 program

The OpenTox USA 2013 community meeting on innovative developments and
applications in predictive toxicology will take place in RTP, North Carolina 29 - 30 October. The meeting is being organised as a collaboration between OpenTox and ToxBank.

The preliminary program is available at:

The meeting provides an opportunity for researchers to learn about best
practices and new applications in data management, modelling and analysis applied for predictive toxicology and risk assessment purposes.

Abstracts for the poster session are being accepted through 31 August.

eCheminfo Drug Design workshop, bursary

We are returning to Oxford for another hands-on eCheminfo drug design workshop week this summer running from 29 July - 2 August 2013.

The deadline for bursary applications is 19 April. Please see http://www.echeminfo.com/?q=drugdiscovery2013 for more details and application form. We have tried to keep the application process simple.

We will link the case study work closely this year with the anti-malarial kinase drug design activity we initiated with SAM (http://www.scientistsagainstmalaria.net/).

We published a short article last month in Drug Discovery Today on our approach to collaboration and knowledge infrastructure (http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1359644613000391).

In the Oxford workshop this year we plan to look at additional new kinase targets and to put a process in place to experimentally test most promising predictions.
